- **Dementia & Alzheimer's**: Supports carers by giving first responders and bystanders instant access to the wearer's condition, emergency contacts, safe return preferences, and preferred hospital. Scan notifications with location are sent to the carer immediately.
- **Medical Needs**: Supports people with allergies, asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, autism, and other conditions by surfacing critical medical information to anyone who scans the band in an emergency.

## How It Works

1. The customer registers an account and configures their emergency profile via a secure web portal.
2. They wear the band daily or during outings.
3. Anyone with a modern smartphone (Android or iPhone) can tap the NFC chip or scan the QR code — no app required.
4. The scanner instantly sees the medical/contact information the wearer has chosen to share.
5. The band owner (and up to six nominated contacts) receives an email notification with a map and timestamp of the scan location.

- **Remote profile updates**: Information can be updated anytime via the secure portal without needing the physical band.

## Privacy & Data

- Users control exactly what information is displayed when the band is scanned.

- GPS location and timestamp are automatically recorded for every scan and retained for 5 years.
- Scan location data may be shared with law enforcement in response to valid legal requests (e.g., missing persons investigations).
- Optional features (emergency contact notifications, Way Home navigation) are disabled by default.
- Authentication uses one-time email login codes (no passwords).
